CONCEPT ART

I havn't actually done very much for this area, since I already have my previous animations to base my movie on. DE_dust2 is basically an expansion of the existing CS series, with the same characters, only more developed.

Here are some images to show the production ideas and concepts.

The idea is to show alot of character personality from these poses. Stickmen are basically black sillhouttes, which is incredibly difficult to pose to show expressive body language. That being said, I find that it is an excellent animation exercise to improve my skills in getting good sillhoutte poses. Most stick figures lack vitality and life, mostly because the spine is too straight and rigid. The trick is to bend the spine to give it that line of action which will automatically make your character more dynamic.

These poses were done early in January 2008 during the early stages of production.
