cheesy Trapped - Out now! May 30, 2009, 08:56:58 AM
http://flash-deck.com/animations/trapped.php

I have never polished an animation this much in my life; I have exhausted every animation principle I can dish out. I am proud to be able to say this is the best I can do as of now.

It is times like these that I am grateful that it finally got done. From the worst cases of technical issues in XSI, and the fear of my program crashing on me to the fear of losing all my hard work in a freak hard disk accident, I can only be thankful it all went smoothly. ;D

I hope you guys like it and as always, feedback would be nice!

wink Work Placement at Ubisoft May 21, 2009, 04:53:30 AM
http://flash-deck.com/animations/nottyped.php

Ok, it has been delayed long enough. Time for some awesome news, as promised.

My Not Typed Animation won the Character Animation award at VIS Awards (2nd May 2009). VIS awards is a programme setup by the University of Teesside to recognise and reward the students in the School of Computing. More info >>

http://www.ubi.com/The prize for winning the award was a 6 month internship at Ubisoft*, and because I'm in my 2nd year, a 12 months work placement was more ideal. After some deliberation, I've been offered the full 12 months! I'll be working on the animations for some of Ubisoft's latest games and will be based in Newcastle, UK. Hopefully, I'll get my name in the credits too :).

I finished my 2nd year of University on the 15th May, and should be going home to Malaysia in June-July (till I start work at Ubisoft).

You might be wondering why I havn't posted my other two 3D animations yet, and that is because I'm currently in the process of refining and polishing the animation of the "stuck". And I'm getting a friend to do the music and sounds for my robot factory animation, which should be cool :).

xx Awesome news coming soon May 07, 2009, 05:56:24 AM
Hey guys,

I've got some really awesome news to share with everyone. I don't want to give it away just yet because I need some more time to get things sorted and confirmed. So stay tuned ;D.

Apart from the inevitable awesome news post that will come, you can expect 2 new 3D animations to be released after May 15th (end of my 2nd year). One being a robot factory animation (similar to Alien warehouse animation I did back in 2008, but better!) and the other being a Character animation about a 'stuck' toy character trying to break free.

"Hard work pays off!"
